Today, Nintendo joins Xbox and PlayStation with a live online gaming platform: Nintendo Switch Online. Gamers will be able to play classic Nintendo titles online, along with multiplayer titles as well.

The online service costs $3.99/month or $19.99/year. That’s a bargain compared to Sony and Microsoft’s online gaming services, which run you $59.99/year.

At launch, you’ll be able to play 20 different 8-bit classics like Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, and Tecmo Bowl. Nintendo promises that the library of classic NES games will continue to grow over time.

Nintendo Switch Online also saves your data to the cloud, so even if your console breaks, your game progress will be saved.
